Carly Anthony And Chacco Claim 2nd Place In The FEI CSI2* $75K Gold Tour Grand Prix
Carly Anthony aboard Chacco
Del Mar, CA – A field of thirty top notch competitors brought their A-game on Saturday afternoon for the final competition of the FEI CSI2*, the $75,000 1.45m Gold Tour Grand Prix, at the Showpark Ranch & Coast Classic. Eight horse and rider combinations returned to ride against the clock in the jump-off, and Carly Anthony (USA) aboard Chacco held the lead until the very end. Last to go Keri Potter (USA) and Melanie Brooks’ eight-year-old Jiminy Cricket, snuck into the lead to earn their first Grand Prix win.
This is the second season together for this horse and rider combination. Oldenburg gelding Chacco, owned by Neil Jones Equestrian Inc. is a very experienced top level Grand Prix horse, and this pair has had many successes together, including a win in the Grand Prix at this very horseshow last year.
Carly Anthony and Chacco were up for the challenge again this year, leaving the jumps up in 41.15 seconds in the jump off to narrowly take over the top spot. We look forward to continued results for this pair as the season progresses.
